this is the video taken during our bbq last weekend
i was planning to stay at the a&e for the rest of the day but somehow the lazziness overcome the slightly weakened will hahaha but we saw one burn case in the morning, poor little girl she had blistered her palms because of a radiator at home n since it was a burn case the girl was referred to the plastic team. i've actually never thought they can have so many fracture cases in just one morning n yeah different type of fractures. the consultant tried to explain how to interpret the x-ray which was made quite simple n thinking back it was only logic to put it that way eventhough u r not that familiar with x-ray. try to look for any ragged bn edges then move from the peripheral to the central of the bone n see whether there's any suspicious lines which may indicate fracture. the 3rd step is to see the soft tissue surrounding the bone in case there's swelling or any foreign objects. i've seen an x-ray with an avulsion fracture which is only a slight pulled of the ligament n since the pt was not a child he was treated as if it's a muscle tear. they may need to b treated differently if
1-the pt is a child - in case it occurs at the growth plate as the mis-alignment of the component may affect the child's growth n child tend to have bone fracture especially at that growth plate when adult often have their tendon or muscle that is affected
2-if it is involving pulling of bone svrl cm away from it's normal position
3-if it is involving a large piece of bone being pulled/broken by the fracture.
in these cases surgery may b needed
